This green plaid table runner sets red bows on a green and cream check: thin red pinlines run through the green blocks, soft sage bands cross the light ones, and offset rows of small red bows sit on top, each with its own checked texture.
The bows make the check look gift-wrapped, which is exactly the mood of a Christmas table. Everything around the runner in our photos is styling only.
🎀 Plaid with a bow on top
A classic green check dressed with rows of red bows, so the table looks like a present before the food arrives.
A green plaid table runner with a cabin feel
Green, cream and red is the palette of flannel shirts and log cabins, and this runner brings it to the dining table. It works beautifully with wooden chargers, cream stoneware and amber glass, and it gives a modern white table an instant cozy layer.
Mixing it with other plaids
If you already own a red tartan blanket or plaid napkins, this runner can join them. Keep one shared color, here the red, and vary the scale so the patterns do not compete. Solid green or cream napkins are the safest partners when you want the bows to stand out.
Matching green plaid bow pieces
The same check is made into a green plaid bow pillow and a bow tree skirt, and our green plaid wrapping paper carries it too. More checks are in the Plaid and Tartan Christmas collection, next to all our Christmas table runners.
For a long holiday season
Because the bows are small and the check is classic, it does not look out of place in early December or in the quiet days after Christmas. Put it out with the first Advent candle and leave it until the tree comes down; it will look just as right at a New Year brunch as it did at the first holiday dinner. Plain white plates let the little bows stand out.
Plaid for every kind of table
The bright green check suits a rustic farmhouse table, but it works on a glass or white lacquered table too, where it adds warmth to a cooler, modern room. On a round table, lay it across the center and set a low bowl of red ornaments in the middle so the bows on the fabric echo the baubles.
